Things You'll Need:
- a vehicle
- some common sense
-
Step 1
To help prevent car theft, park in a bright, well-lit area. When you leave your car, lock the doors. Hide anything valuable in the trunk. Nothing lures in a robber like pricey items such as a pile of cd's, a check book, etc. left out in the open. Even a lunch cooler should be stored in the trunk. I recently had a friend get their stereo stolen from their car and the thief also stole the cooler to put the stereo in.

Step 2
Get OnStar if you can. OnStar is a in-vehicle security system (amung other things) that can help track your car down if it gets stolen. The police will be notified and the thief will be found (hopefully!).

Step 3
Prevent a car theft by installing a motion sensor to your house if you don't have a garage. If you can't park your car inside a garage, that's best. But if you can't, try to park it in your driveway (if you have one) as close to your home as possible. A motion sensor will turn on the lights if it notices any movements.
