How to Make a Burrito Bowl
A burrito bowl, not to be confused with a taco bowl, is a deconstructed burrito. All the elements are there, in a bowl, minus the flour tortilla. You taste the ingredients and save many grams of fat and carbs. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Cooked rice
- Canned black or pinto beans (regular or preseasoned)
- Cooked beef, pork, chicken or taco meat (leftovers work great)
- Shredded lettuce
- Shredded cheese
- Chopped onions
- Sour cream
- Salsa or diced tomatoes
- Guacamole or diced avocado cubes
- Tortilla chips
- Cereal-sized bowl

Heat the rice, beans and meat (a microwave is quickest.)

Start assembling the ingredients by spooning cooked rice into the bottom of your bowl.

Spoon beans over rice.

Shred or chop your meat of choice and spoon over the beans.

Layer your chosen toppings: onions, salsa, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, guacamole or diced avocado and sour cream.

Add a drink and a side of tortilla chips for dipping. Eat and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
For a healthier meal, substitute brown rice for white, reduced fat or fat free sour cream for full fat sour cream, and reduced fat cheese for full fat cheese.
Of course you can use the same ingredients to make tacos and burritos.
