Cut a circle about 1" in from the edge of the second round cake, so you now have an inner circle and an outer ring. The inner circle will be the head, the outer circle will be cut to form the ears, paws and the tail.

  4. Step 4

Cut two triangles for the ears, two for the paws and use the remaining for the tail. Cut the tail in half and place it in opposite curving directions to make it more curvy, or keep it as one piece, it is up to you.

  5. Step 5

Add food coloring to frosting if desired to be blacker, or just use the chocolate as is.

  6. Step 6

Decorate with candy of choice to make the eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers.

Tips & Warnings
  • You will need a large board surface to assemble and store your cake on.
  • Cake cut outs can be crumbly and hard to frost, patience is key. Freezing the cake before frosting may help this process.
  • Great for Halloween parties!
  • May be too cute to eat!
