-
Step 1
Visit the Demand Studios website and register as a new freelance writer. Select your areas of expertise, provide a few writing samples and upload your resume. Not all freelance writers are accepted to write for Demand Studios. Therefore be sure to provide samples of your best work.
-
Step 2
Wait for approval. The approval process can take little as 24 hours to as long as a week. It all depends on how many applications the editorial team is processing at any given time.
-
Step 3
Login to your account. Once you receive your approval e-mail, all you have to do is log into your account and choose up to 10 of the pre-selected titles in the Demand Studios database. Before you start writing, however, be sure to review the style guides. Demand Studios has several types of articles such as How to, About, How Does, Shopping and Fact Sheet. Each article type has its own set of writing style guides. Become familiar with each style guide, as it will make your writing/approval process go smoothly.
-
Step 4
Begin writing articles. After you've written the article, upload it to the Demand Studios website. It takes approximately 7 days, sometimes less for your article to be reviewed.
-
Step 5
Make edits as necessary. The editors give writers one chance to make the proper edits. If the article is not corrected to the editor’s liking the first time around, they will reject the article and the title goes back into the pool of available topics for other Demand Studio writers to select.
-
Step 6
Wait for payment. Demand Studios pays $15 per 'How to' article and they process payment through PayPal weekly. Payment is usually sent to the writer’s PayPal account by Friday each week. Pay scale changes depending on article type.

on 6/22/2009 These details about Demand Studios are great! I think I've found what I'm looking for in a freelance writing website! As a beginning writer, I'd like to have more guidelines as to what and how to write--just for practice. Thanks for the hook-up.

on 3/23/2009 I like writing for demand but find that I have better luck just writing for ehow directly. However demand has currently started allowing writers to claim some residual income off of designated article titles.
