Life can be more fun and rewarding if you continue to learn. Being a lifetime learner is a grand goal. Go for it!

  1. Step 1

    Challenge yourself to be a lifetime learner. At any age you can still be learning, so enjoy what our world has to offer.

  2. Step 2

    READ a BOOK! Yes reading is still one of the best ways to learn new things.

  3. Step 3

    Check out podcasts on new subjects you are interested in learning more about.

  4. Step 4

    Get magazines on topics that are new or challenging to you.

  5. Step 5

    Read online articles, blogs and how to's.

  6. Step 6

    Listen to people, you can learn something new every day.

  7. Step 7

    Try a new game, like Suduko. It'll be fun and rewarding.

  8. Step 8

    Look for leisure learning type organizations. Many larger cities have groups like this that offer anything from acting classes to travel tips.

  9. Step 9

    Check out your local public library. It is a great resource with books, magazines, videos and DVDs, audio books also enable you to convert idle drive time, or exercise time, into a value-added time.

  10. Step 10

    Many companies have their own libraries and training that are available for the asking. Let the company you work for help you learn something new. Be willing to attend training on new topics and take on new roles. You will continue to learn and be challenged.

  11. Step 11

    Take in a Webinars/webcasts, webinars offer quick access without the travel, to get some training and information on new topics.

  12. Step 12

    National organizations typically have a number of resources that you, as a member, can participate in. These may include online libraries, peer forums, and training courses.

  13. Step 13

    Try out some on the job training, workshop or seminar. These are great ways to learn more about your field or another.

  14. Step 14

    Volunteering your time is a great way to learn. Churches and nonprofits might need some work done that you can help with.

  15. Step 15

    Use a search engine on your new favorite topic. Google, Yahoo or Lycos to start out with. Learn more on a topic or field of study.

  16. Step 16

    Get back to school! Continuing education or community college can do the trick.

Tips & Warnings
  • Read daily, even if you only have short periods of time for reading.
  • Learn a new language or try out a new hobby, you will be learning the whole time.
