Buy a Freezer

Want to buy a freezer? Do you want a chest freezer, upright freezer, or just not sure? Read on!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • money
  • space for a freezer
  1. Step 1

Freezers are one of the handiest appliances to have in your house! Sometimes even big side-by-side refrigerator-freezers don't offer enough freezer room for all of your everyday food. A freezer is also great to have if you want to take full advantage of supermarket sales and stock-up on your favorite items.

  2. Step 2

The smallest freezers are usually chest-style and measure around 5 cubic feet. They can range in price from usually $110 on up. Chest freezers don't take up a lot of space yet can hold quite a bit of food.

  3. Step 3

A larger upright freezer is great if you have the space and money. They're usually at least $150 and up.

  4. Step 4

    Some things to consider:

Think about buying a second-hand freezer for a fraction of the cost. When people move, they don't always want to take a large freezer with them. You could get a decent deal.

If you don't need a lot of freezer space, consider a refrigerator. The small freezer compartment comes in handy for your frozen items, yet the refrigerator part comes in handy for storing extra food for when guests are over.
