Every parent goes through crying with their baby. It's a question of how bad it gets. This article will teach you how to identify colic and what help with colic.

Things You'll Need:

  • Clock
  • Large baby blanket
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

    The first thing you need to figure out is if they are fussy more at one time of the day. Most babies with colic will have a "fussy time." Fussy time is a set time of the day that nothing you do will be right. Most babies that are colicky will fuss more in the evening or night time hours.     Take your shirt off and take the babies clothes off. Baby should have everything but a diaper removed. Lay baby on your chest with a blanket drapped over her. Pat on butt firmly and hum.

  3. Step 3

    Take a large recieving blanket and put in dryer just long enough to get it warm, NOT hot! Swaddle baby in blanket. You can swaddle baby by folding blanket over one arm, then feet, then other arm.

  4. Step 4

    Hold baby in front of you facing outwards. Put one around tummy and your hand on their chest. Bounce lightly, up and down. The pressure on their stomach helps ease their stomach pains.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you can find no relief for baby, and the eposides last longer than three hours can doctor. Colic does not really have a cure. There are things you can do to help the baby, but understand that the only real relief is time.
  • If you find yourself overwhelmed put baby in a safe place like there crib and take a 5 - 10 min break. Do not shake a baby or be aggressive in any way. Babies are very fragile and can be hurt easily. Even by accident babies die everyday from parents being to rough.
