Things You'll Need:
- PC
- email address
- Telephone number
-
Step 1
Stop Junk email -There is a website I found where you can register your email address for free to help stop spammers and/or Junk mail. I bet there are others out there, but I went with www.dmachoice.org. So far they are doing a great job
-
Step 2
Stop Telemarketors registered my home phone and my and my son's cell phones with the FTC's National do not call registry at www.donotcall.gov or you can call via phone at 1.888.382.1222.
I did receives a few calls shortly after I registered my phone number, so I just interrupted the caller and told them I am on the National Do Not Call registry so please remove my number from their list. Shortly after I noticed all of the spam phone calls stopped. I think you have to go back after 6 months or so and re-register. -
Step 3
There is also a "Deceased Do Not Contact Registration". www.dmachoice.org allows family members, friends or caretakers seeking to remove the names of deceased individuals from commercial marketing lists. They understand how difficult this process can be.
-
Step 4
If you would like to reduce the number of pre-screened credit and insurance offers you are receiving for free, go to www.optoutprescreen.com or call 1-888-5OptOut or 1-888-567-8688 to opt-out of these offers.
