Is your high school or college reunion around the corner? Are you thinking of all the things you need to do and take care of?

This article can help you prepare for your reunion so you can have a blast.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Invitation
  • Money
  • Friend to help you shop
  1. Step 1

INVITATION - First of all, your invitation should advise the dress appearance. Business casual, dressy casual, semi-formal, formal.

If you are a little confused call your reunion coordinator and find out what they are wearing.

You would really need to err on the side of caution and be a bit overdressed, instead of underdressed.

  2. Step 2

    YOUR OUTFIT

You need an outfit that will accenuate your good parts. I selected my dress with the assistance of a sales lady at a local store. She was unbiased and helped me make the best selection for my body type.

Most professional sales people will be able to assist you.

Also, bring a friend along in case you find a couple of outfits you really like.

I bought my dress a month in advance.

  3. Step 3

    YOUR SHOES, SUPPORT

If you're going to your reunion - make sure you are comfortable. But you want it to look good. So, go out there and find you some comfortable dancing shoes. You may want to break in your shoes before you wear them.

There are also some undergarments that can really help you push in your parts and push up some others. Take a look at some Spanx, or a girdle.

  4. Step 4

    YOUR ACCESSORIES

Ladies, I'm not one to dress up very much - but I know the importance of having all things match up.

    Don't forget:
    Earrings
    Necklace
    Pocketbook

Make sure it all ties in together and matches up!!!

  5. Step 5

    BEING BEAUTIFUL

"Pretty is as pretty does." So, you can go looking like a movie star but if you act ugly or snobby - these things don't matter. So make sure you wear a smile.

Again, as a non-prissy person getting ready for this was a challenge for me - but I did get a couple of things done for the week before my reunion - the included:
    *A manicure and pedicure
    *A spray tan
*Your makeup - it's okay to go a little flashier at a nighttime event, go the extra mile
*Hair style the day of the event

  6. Step 6

    CHECKLIST

__ The right outfit for your event
__ Shoes - good for dancing, comforable too!!
    __ Spanx
    __ Accessories: Jewelry, purse, hose
    __ Manicure/Pedicure
    __ Hairstyle
    __ SMILE!!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Start a workout regimen/diet when you get your reunion invitation. You'll be glad you did!!
  • Practice dancing in your shoes. Learn some new dance moves.
  • Bring a couple of pictures of your children/pets to show off.
  • Bring some business cards too, if you want to share your e-mail address with long lost classmates.
  • Consider leaving your spouse at home if they are remotely uninterested in going and if they did not attend your school.
  • SMILE!!!
  • Know in your heart - everyone has some drama. So don't think everyone is thinking about your life choices over the years. Go and have fun and LOOK GOOD!!!

on 10/17/2008 I would encourage you to go - there is a lot of stress involved - but if you prepare for it in advance, you can have fun. It's an opportunity to be happy with who you are, what you do and have fun catching up. (I did not take my husband with me though- he'd have been bored to tears.)
