Things You'll Need:
- a digital camera
-
Step 1
Start this project at home, taking every thing out of your closet. Lay clothes out in groupings on the bed, or hook the hangers over the door. Then take photos of them with your digital camera. Basically, you are making a digital inventory library of what you already have.
-
Step 2
Bring your camera to the mall. But even better - ALWAYS keep your digital camera in your purse. This way if you end up doing an unplanned visit at the mall, the camera is always with you.
-
Step 3
When you look at a potential clothing purchase, take your camera out of your purse and flip through the pictures of what you have in your closet. See if you have some pieces that will go with the garment you are considering buying. If not, well then you know right there that if you buy it, you must also get something else to wear with it now. If you don't, it will just hang in your closet unused and it will be wasted money.
-
Step 4
If you are in doubt about buying a piece of clothing, then don't. Take a picture of it instead! Then you can think about it, and show it to your friends to get their opinion.
-
Step 5
If you are unsure about how the cut or color looks on you, and you don't have one of your trusted shopping companions with you, then take a picture of yourself wearing it in the fitting room. You can ask one of the store personnel to take a picture of you from the rear, to get a rear view. Then you can ask your friend's honest opinions later.
