Things You'll Need:
- A computer with internet access preferably high speed -but not necessary
- Patience. This is one of those times it pays off.
-
Step 1
Start with www.sidestep.com
On your computer go to the website www.sidestep.com
Enter your travel requirements. Experiment with alternative travel dates. Notice the top 2 or 3 airlines that offer the lowest air fare and check out the flight schedule that suits you the most. Print out the flight details or jot down the flight info. Close your browser window. -
Step 2
Start with a fresh browser page and go directly to the airline website that provides cheap airfare and meets your travel needs . DO NOT USE THE LINK THAT IS PROVIDED ON THE SIDESTEP WEB SITE. You need to refresh your browser and start new before going directly to the website of a specific airline or you will be following the rate that sidestep offered. The idea is to find a unique fare being offered by an airline. Frequently the fare offered by an airline is less, sometimes it might be the same low rate that you found on sidestep and sometimes the fare is higher.
-
Step 3
Experiment with different travel datesEnter your travel details and try to find the flight that was offered on Sidestep.com. Experiment with alternative travel dates. Keep in mind Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday flights usually are a bit less. Repeat the process by going directly to the actual website of the airline that offered the second lowest rates that you found on sidestep.
-
Step 4
Don’t stop yet! New browser. Start fresh. (Maybe I am paranoid this may not be necessary) Go to www.cheapoair.com and enter your flight request. Any cheaper?
Open a fresh new browser window and go to www.bookingbuddy.com . Again, enter your travel request to compare the air fare for your trip. Try your travel plans out on the various travel search engines that are offered on bookingbuddy.com to compare cheap flights from different travel websites that might better fit your flight schedule and your budget. -
Step 5
BON VOYAGE!!While on the Booking Buddy web site, check out other travel links like One Travel.com and Mobissimo.com. Booking Buddy searches many discount travel search engines at one time. Experiment. Print out your flight details that appeal to you the most and if you still have that fire burning in your belly and you are not ready to throw in the towel, call a discount travel agent and challenge a professional to find you a better deal!
Good luck and happy travels.
