This guide will show you a few steps you can take to detect breast cancer early.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

While in the shower, move your fingers slowly and gently over the breast checking for any lump or thickening.

  2. Step 2

When standing in front of a mirror, raise your arms high over your head and look for any swelling or dimpling of the skin. Also, keep your eye on the color and contour of the nipple and see if it changes.

  3. Step 3

Try to do a monthly self check starting at age 20. Beginning at age 40, have a professional breast exam every year at a local medical center.
