New York Cheese Cake is sooooooo heavenly! It is sweet tangy from sugar and sour cream. It's easier than you might think to make a great cheese cake!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A mixer
  • 16 Graham Crackers – or one sleeve
  • Tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  1. Step 1

    Crust:
16 Graham Crackers – or one sleeve
    4 Tablespoons melted butter
    2 Tablespoons sugar

Crunch the crackers into fine crumbs.
Pour in melted butter and add sugar.
Mix the crumb mixture to be evenly moist
Press into a 9 inch spring form pan.

  2. Step 2

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Put a small bread pan of water in the oven.
Moist heat keeps the cheese cake from cracking.

  3. Step 3

    3 – 8 oz cream cheese
    1 1/2 cups sugar
Cream the cheese and sugar together.
    Add the following ingredients:
    3/4 cup milk
    3 eggs
    1 cup sour cream
    1/4 cup flour
    1 Tablespoon Vanilla
    3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
    Blend all ingredients thoroughly.
Pour into the 9 inch spring form pan and place in the oven on a pizza pan or baking sheet in case the filling drips over the top.
    Bake for one hour.

  4. Step 4

The center will not seem done. Leave it in the oven after turning it off with the door open for about an hour to let the residual heat finish firming up the middle.
Chill for a few hours before serving.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use canned cherry pie filling as a topping if desired after the cheesecake has cooled.
  • Make a quick strawberry glaze as a topping if desired, topping the cheesecake after it's cooled.
  • Placing the spring form on the baking sheet in the oven first reduces the chance of spilling the filling.
