This is an Adobe Photoshop tutorial. Adobe Photoshop CS2's foreground and background colors are displayed in the tools box. If you don't see it, go to window and select tools. The default color is black for foreground and white for background. That means the brush paints in black and the eraser paints in white. If you switch the default colors, then brush paints in white and eraser paints in black.

If you have Adobe Photoshop and are not familiar with how to use it, see link below for some good books on Adobe Photoshop. There are many tutorials on the internet free of charge. When learning about Photoshop, it is important to learn the basic concepts (this is easily done from an instructional book). The tutorials online utilizes photoshop's image editing concepts (the principles behind the tools) to editing their image in the desired way. That's why there is no one book that teaches you everything about Photoshop (no one can teach creativity). Being good at image editing involves thinking, and cleverly using photoshop's tools to achieve the final results. So, it is very important to spend lots of time on Photoshop to effectively improve your image editing abilities.
