Nail polish contains a colorless, toxic, water soluble gas called formaldehyde. Avoid buying nail polishes that contains formaldehyde this chemical is causing your nails to be dark. The chemical formula is CH2O and another name for formaldehyde is methanal.

You want to clear up those dark, dull, and yellow nails, see the following steps. Try which home remedy works best for you.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Home Remedy One
    Mix 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with 1 cup of water in a small bowl; soak your nails for at least 10-15 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Home Remedy Two
    Add white vinegar onto a cotton ball and rub onto your nails.

  3. Step 3

    Home Remedy Three
    In a small bowl add 1 cup of warm water, add 1-2 drops of essential oil or olive oil, and 1 denture tablet, and soak for at least 10-15 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Home Remedy Four
    Add 1 drop of Castor oil onto a cotton ball and rub onto your nails. (Dull nails)
