Things You'll Need:
- the desire to nuture a plant.
-
Step 1
Look closely at the dirt in the pot to see if there are any bugs or unnatural growth in it. You want to look closely that nothing is crawling in the dirt or fungus is growing in the dirt or on the steam of the plant.
-
Step 2
When buying a plant for your home or as a gift look closely at the underside of the leaves to make sure there are not small red spiders which are common for many plants. These are annoying insects that can affect other plants in your home or the home of the person you may be buying the plant for.
-
Step 3
If you are buying a plant for yourself, try not to get the best one of the type you are purchasing. Treat plant buying as adopting a child. The plant that needs a little more care will reward you for nurturing it.
