Now You're The Rocker!
Now You're The Rocker!

Another date has been ruined by Rock Band. Your boyfriend comes over and hooks up the game to your parent's big screen TV. His friends start streaming in one by one. After an hour of "Blackhole Sun", you're ready to do something else. Anything else. Maybe you should just brush your teeth and go to bed. Don't worry- there is hope. With just a few simple strategies, you can put Rock Band to rest.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Become really interested in Rock Band. Start playing it yourself. At first your boyfriend may be excited about this, but his excitement will wane as soon as you make sure to hog his favorite instrument all night.

  2. Step 2

Play very poorly. Bring the band down, yet refuse to quit playing. Promise that you'll be better on the next song. Complain that the rest of the songs aren't as easy as "Margaritaville".

  3. Step 3

Don't be a team player. If one of the other band members starts going down, pretend not to notice they need you to "save" them by rocking your instrument. If you are going down, shout at everyone until they are forced to "save you" because they can't hear the vocals over your screaming.

  4. Step 4

Be a little clumsy. Hit the wrong buttons when it is time for you to select an instrument and player. Walk too far away from the game while holding the guitar or microphone and accidentally unplug your instrument.

  5. Step 5

Get your parents involved. Have your dad come and play the drums. Tell your boyfriend that your dad "loves" classic rock and this is a great bonding opportunity.

  6. Step 6

End his obsession by usurping his friends. Invite them to your house to play, and then call him and ask him to bring his game over because some of "your" friends want to play Rock Band.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't forget to act disappointed when he loses his interest in the game, otherwise he may get suspicious.
  • Beware! You may actually become addicted to the game and then your plan will backfire.
