Things You'll Need:
- Blender
- ice cold water
- about a pound of organic almonds
- Organic oranges, raw honey or other natural sweetner like apple juice (my favorite)
- cheesecloth or sieve with very small holes
-
Step 1
To begin making organic almond milk, you first may want to cleanse the almonds. It is not necessary to soak the almonds more than a few minutes.
-
Step 2
Continue making your organic almond milk by now adding one third of the almonds and chopping for a few moments in the blender. Add one cup of water and blend for about a minute. Add more almonds. Add more water. Blend.
-
Step 3
Add the balance of the ice cold water and blend between three and five minutes or until the blender looks silky white and there are no more pieces of almonds. A few left will be removed when you strain your almond milk.
-
Step 4
Almond Milk is naturally sweet. Try tasting a little bit before sweetening and using your method of straining the milk for removing leftover almond pieces. If you prefer it sweeter, try adding a natural apple juice in the blender to your liking, adding slower so as to not over sweetening it. Or as alternative, if you are serving the almond milk to others, let them sweeten their own glasses.
