National Endowment for the Humanities funds grants for writers who are interested in writing educational books for children about humanitarian subjects. Writers who have received such grants has been seasoned writers as well as teachers new to the writing field. To learn more go to neh.gov.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) offers annual grants to writers who focus on quality children's books and illustrations. The SCBWI is also a great society to learn about various resources for writers. To find more information about grants and awards offered by the SCBWI go to scbwi.org.

Google grants for writing funds in your area. For example: In your google search engine type "mini gants childrens lititure," or "mini grants teacher student literature." At the end be sure to ad the city and state where your located. For more results you can just search by state. When evaluating the grant to find one that fits what you are looking for, look for funds geared to help children gain awareness of specific subjects. Some example of funds is material talking about foster care, natural disasters, parent death, racism and other social issuers that are taught well through story telling. The grant does not have to "grant to write children book" your looking for the effects of the book instead.
