Step 1
Instead of buying at the bookstore or college bookstore, Sign up for a free account with Amazon.com and Half.Com(part of Ebay) and purchase from their website. You can buy a new book, but check out the books in like new condition. They are often cheaper.
-
Step 2
Check at the library to see if its available. If it's not at your public library, they can probably get it at another library in another city or state (interlibrary loan).
You simply ask a librarian and fill out a request form, with the book title and author. If the book is available, it'll will be sent to your local branch library where you can pick it and keep it for a certain period. -
Step 3
If your public library does not have the book, if you put in book request, they often would purchase it for their library, and then inform you when it arrives so you can borrow it.
-
Step 4
Check out The Local community college- in my area (Virginia), they give free library cards to anyone who is not a student. Check that out in your area, and see if they offer the same thing.
-
Step 5
Visit your local bookstore- see the deals they offer and
you can sit, relax and read the book there, (if it's recipe or relationship book you are considering) and gain all the information you need. -
Step 6
There are also books that available for viewing online- you can read the entire book instead of purchasing it. Check out websites like ebooks.com or www.free-ebooks.net. It can save you money.

on 1/4/2009 "Find Great Book Deals" caught my eye. I love books and you've given some good tips for finding them. Many libraries have used book stores or a section of sale books too. Here's how to find booksales: http://www.ehow.com/how_4428218_find-book-sales.html
