How to Throw a Half Birthday Party
Birthdays are huge for kids! But they change soooo much in a whole year that a small half-birthday celebration at the six-month mark is a great way to hold them over until the main event. Here is how keep with the "half" theme. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Half a birthday cake
- 6 helium balloons
- Game (like darts)
- Six friends
- Half sandwiches and half pieces of fruit
Instructions
-
-
1
Start the party on the half hour (like 5:30 p.m.).
-
2
Order or make half a birthday cake. Make it obvious that it's half a cake--order a full sheet birthday cake and cut it in half (you can always freeze the other half).
-
-
3
Float six helium balloons over the celebration area.
-
4
Sing "Happy Half Birthday To You" when the cake comes out.
-
5
Skip the presents at this celebration--but think about how to include fun ways to highlight the half theme--like playing half a game of darts or baseball.
-
6
Serve half-sandwiches and half-pieces of fruit.

I wish I could come up with ideas like this that are even half as good! Great idea! Presenting half a birthday cake would so hilarious! -
