Here's a twist on your usual steak. This flavorful lemon steak is great for a change of pace and will please any crowd!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • flank or chuck steak (1.5 lbs.)
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 t. grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 2 T. soy sauce
  • 1/2 T. butter
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1/4 t. pepper
  • 1 small can of mushrooms, drained
  1. Step 1
     

    Trim steak. Score steak with criss-cross pattern on both sides.

    In a glass casserole dish, scatter half of the onions. Put the steak on the onions. Cover the meat with the rest of the onions.

  2. Step 2
     

    Combine the lemon peel, lemon juice, salt, pepper, sugar, and soy sauce. Pour over the meat, cover, and refrigerate for 4-6 hours (or longer). Turn occasionally.

  3. Step 3
     

    Grill or broil until cooked. Saute mushrooms in butter. Serve.

    Great with a salad or other kind of vegetable and a baked potato!
