We are in the middle of the worst back pain epidemic in history - and despite all the medical knowledge we've obtained over the last many years - the problem is not getting any better!

Certainly, you may find pain medicine that gives you mild relief (and surrender to potential side effects) or maybe even succumb to the pressures of getting an operation; however, simply shuffling the SYMPTOMS around without dealing with the real CAUSE of the pain only creates temporary relief and, at worst, can open the door for greater problems in the future.

Though you might think you know why you’re in pain, there may be multiple or underlying causes you’re not aware of.

It’s very easy to blame back pain on family history, bone structure, previous injuries, etc, but the root cause of pain is often times just as difficult to diagnose as to treat. However, from my extensive personal research and conversations with a wide range of health and fitness professionals, there are some common, overlooked causes that cause the majority of back and neck pain.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

PHYSICAL: It may sound overly simplified, but posture is a major cause of back and neck pain.

Small adjustments in how you hold your body can bring immense relief.

Not only does poor posture look unattractive it can:

    • Put your body off balance.
This leads to increased chance of falls and the possibility of fractures.

    • Produces dominance of one muscle group
When one muscle group is dominant over another, it causes muscle strain and creates pain and unnatural usage.

    • Restricts spinal nerves
Produces numbness or weakness in hands, arms, and fingers

    • Affects blood and nerve supply
Inhibits the proper flow of oxygen to the body.

  2. Step 2

NUTRITION: The state of your health is directly proportional to the quality of your nutrition. It’s a known fact that poor nutrition can cause a plethora of debilitating and deadly diseases and if you’re going to take responsibility for your back and neck pain relief, you have to take responsibility for your nutrition as well.

In many cases, people have reported complete pain elimination from simple changes in their nutrition and diet plan!

Your body has an amazing ability to
heal itself. It’s much more powerful than most people give it credit for; however, for your body to take on the healing challenges of everyday life – it needs the proper fuel and nutrition to make it happen.

  3. Step 3

EMOTIONAL: Your emotions are interconnected with your physical body. Blood pressure is an easy example; when stressed, most people’s blood pressure reacts instantaneously, by increasing above normal levels.

Unfortunately, emotional causes of neck and back pain are not as easily identified, as most physical pain that is manifested through emotional trauma is not recognized by the conscious mind. Simply put, you’re aware of your emotions, but not aware of the lasting physical trauma associated with them.

Fortunately (as with most natural healing strategies), emotional healing can also be done at home yielding both powerful and amazing results.

Tips & Warnings
  • Learn proper sitting, standing and sleeping positions that will put the least amount of strain on your back and even help to restore your body's natural balance.
  • Eat foods that are whole, live and low in acidity as they best promote the body's natural healing ability.
  • Recognize the effects of worry, stress, anxiety, depression, etc. on your body and take action to minimize the negative impact.
