Your friends just brought over a lovely bottle of wine... But, oh no! You don't have a corkscrew!

Whether it is Champagne, Chardonnay, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon -- don't worry, you can still open the bottle with simple household tools!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bottle of wine
  • Screw -- about 2 inches long or longer
  • Screw driver
  • Pliers
  1. Step 1

    Unwrap the bottle of wine.

  2. Step 2

Take the screw and screw it into the cork. Make sure your screw is long enough to go into the cork at least 1 inch deep.

  3. Step 3

Use the pliers to gently pull the screw -- and the cork! -- out of the bottle. Once you have gotten the cork part way out, you can move the pliers to pull on the cork instead of the screw.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be gentle.
  • Rock the cork back and forth -- and then in a circular motion.
  • Make sure you have a good grip on the bottle.
  • Enjoy your wine -- but remember not to drink and drive!
