How to Make An Easy Mustard Sauce.

This is a sharp mustard sauce, ideal with any meat or fish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm white vinegar
  • salt
  1. Step 1

    In a small bowl, blend together the dry mustard, flour, and 1/2 cup cream.

    In a heavy saucepan, heat the other 1/2 cup of cream.

  2. Step 2

    Stir the mustard mixture into the hot cream. Continue to heat.

    Beat two tablespoons of the hot mustard mix into the egg yolk.

    Stir egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan.

  3. Step 3

    Add the sugar and continue cooking, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

    Stir in the warm vinegar and salt to taste.

    Serve. Enjoy!
