How to Make a Kids Dinosaur Costume
It can be hard to choose a boy's Halloween costume because he may have a difficult time knowing what he wants to be. While the selection is limited in local retail stores, the possiblities are endless when you create your own costume from scratch. You can save yourself a lot of money, too. Here are some ideas on how to create an adorable dinosaur costume for your child.

- Green hooded sweatshirt
- Green sweatpants
- Green felt
- White felt
- Glue
- Two googly eyes
- Fiberfill
- Sewing machine or needle and thread

Cut out a tail from the green felt. You will want two pieces so that you can sew them together. The length of the tail depends on the height of your child, because you do not want your child to trip. Once you have the tail cut, sew the pieces together and stuff the tail with fiberfill.

Cut small triangles out of the white felt. Glue or sew them onto the top of the tail, creating the appearance of ridges. Put the biggest triangles closest to the rear, and the smallest at the tips.

Cover your child's shoes with green felt. Cut pieces of felt to drape over the shoes so they cannot be seen. Make sure that they are not too large so the child does not trip. The felt can be attached with safety pins so that it can be easily removed.

Glue the googly eyes onto the top of the hooded sweatshirt. Hold them in place for a couple of minutes to ensure that they stay on. You can also cut more triangles out of white felt and glue them onto the rim of the hood to appear like teeth.

Dress your child in the costume. You can also add scales onto the belly of the sweatshirt by making a bunch of scales out of white felt and pinning or gluing them in a overlay pattern.
