How to Make Garlic Pumpkin Seeds

In this simple guide, you will learn how to make tasty pumpkin seeds for the holidays. Pumpkins are fun to carve and when you have finished the Jack-O-Lantern, you will have plenty of seeds left to bake to perfection. This treat is great for any party or gathering, or even to just munch on as a snack.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pumpkin
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Flat cookie sheet pan
  • Bowl
  • Knife
  1. Step 1

    Carve the top off the pumpkin and take out the seeds. Wash them in a bowl and remove all the pulp.

  2. Step 2

    Now place 1/2 tsp. of salt in the bowl of water and pumpkin seeds. Let them soak for an hour. You can soak them overnight if you desire a salty flavor.

  3. Step 3

    Drain the water and place the seeds on the cookie sheet. Smooth the seeds out so they are a single layer.

  4. Step 4

    Sprinkle garlic powder on the seeds. Parmesan cheese is optional and also flavorful.

  5. Step 5

    Place seeds in pre-heated oven (325 degrees). Leave the sheet in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, or longer if you likecrunchier seeds.

  • You can add hot pepper like cayenne to make the seeds spicy.
