How to Apply for a Diamond Shamrock Gas Card
Usually, you can hop on the Internet and find a way to apply for a gas card from your preferred vender, but not always. If your attempts to look online for a Diamond Shamrock gas card have ended in confusion, it is because such a card is not available. However, you can apply for a credit card to purchase gas from Velero, the parent company of Diamond Shamrock. Velero is scrolled across the card, yet it still bears a small Diamond Shamrock logo in the corner. Does this Spark an idea?

Apply for the gas card through the website. Go to the Our Stores tab at the Velero website and click “Consumer Credit Card.”

Read the terms of the credit card agreement before you apply. Note the annual and default APR, specifically, the rate increase applied to missed payments.

Complete the fields of the application form. At minimum, you need to provide your name, address, date-of-birth, social security, phone and driver’s license numbers. When you have completed all the fields, look over it for inaccuracies, then hit the “apply” button.

Attain a gas card by phone. Locate the phone number of the credit card department at the “Velero Office” tab. Then call a representative to help set up an account, or have a form be mailed to your home.

Submit an application by mail. Pick up a form at a Diamond Shamrock store. Write your contact information with a pen, then send it to the return address: Credit Card Center, PO Box 631, Amarillo, TX 79105-0631.

Verify your gas card. Upon acceptance, you will receive a gas card within 7 to 10 business days. When you receive the card, call the number posted on the adhesive strip to activate.

Tips & Warnings
You can also get a Velero Fuel Card from the website, but you do not have to apply since it functions more like a gift card.
The Velero card is intended for gas or merchandise purposes, not cash advances.
Do not expect the promotional rebate to last beyond the “offer period.” When you apply, Velero promotes a rebate on gas purchases, but it only covers 3 months or the first 100 gallons you purchase.
When you apply for a Velero gas credit card, understand that you can only use it at Velero and affiliates, such as Diamond Shamrock, Beacon and Shamrock.
