Summertime get-togethers at the park and family picnics outdoors would not be the same without serving ice cold, juicy watermelons. At such outdoor parties, you can start a watermelon seed spitting contest. Learn the art of watermelon seed spitting so you can play (and win) the match.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place watermelon seed in your mouth. It is important to only have one seed and no remaining watermelon flesh. To do this, suck all the flesh off from around the seed. Suck on the seed for a while, and get used to how it moves in your mouth.

  2. Step 2

Place your feet at the designated starting point. Have one leg slightly more forward than the other for leverage.

  3. Step 3

Bend your knees slightly and keep yourself evenly balanced.

  4. Step 4

Pull your torso and head backward, like pulling back a rubber band.

  5. Step 5

Move your watermelon seed to the top back portion of your tongue and pull your tongue back. Make sure the watermelon seed is not too far back, however, as you might accidentally swallow it. Practice this a few times before you begin.

  6. Step 6

Take a deep breath (making sure again not to swallow the seed) and round out your lips almost like you are puckering for a kiss. Point yourself forward in the desired direction.

  7. Step 7

Lick your lips so they are wet.

  8. Step 8

Blow out your mouth with as much air as you can muster and push your body in a forward motion at the same time. Keep your lips puckered during your spit. Your watermelon seed should then come flying out of your mouth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice this activity in private before doing it in front of others at a picnic. Practice, as they say, makes perfect.
  • Make sure there are no bystanders unaware of your activity. Keep anyone from coming near enough to the target area as to be able to be possibly hit by a stray watermelon seed.
