Boston Red Sox tickets are among the most sought after in all of sports, especially for a playoff game or a game against the rival New York Yankees. Typically, all home games at legendary Fenway Park are sold out, so the die-hard fan must look to the secondary market to purchase tickets. There are a number of online sites that can help, including Boston's Ace Ticket. Providing a service, too, are scalpers who traditionally set up shop on the grounds around the ball park prior to the game time and sell tickets. Keep in mind that scalping tickets is illegal, however. And, in the last five seasons, police in Boston have cracked down on scalping activities. Still, if you can scout out the right location, and you don't look like a policeman, you just might be able to find a scalper with Red Sox tickets.

How to Find Scalpers for Red Sox Tickets

  1. Step 1

Locate an area where scalpers are likely to be working. Typically there are too many policemen around the entrance to Fenway and this drives the scalpers away. Traditionally, Kenmore Square, which is within walking distance of Fenway, has attracted scalpers.

  2. Step 2

Check out the action from a distance. Are money and tickets being exchanged? Is anybody asking about tickets? Are there men constantly on their cell phones hovering about in the same area?

  3. Step 3

If you have identified someone you think is a scalper, try to make eye contact with him. He may or may not approach you, depending upon how desperate he is to unload his tickets, and depending upon whether he thinks you are a policeman.

  4. Step 4

Make it known that you want tickets. Flash some cash if you like, in addition. Crackdown or no crackdown, if you are in the right location, chances are that you will be approached by a scalper.

Tips & Warnings
  • As game time draws closer, scalpers typically become more desperate to unload their tickets. This means that you could get a better deal, and it also means that it is more likely that you could be approached, given the fact that you have made it known that you are in the market for tickets.
  • Beware of buying fake tickets. Any number of people have purchased tickets from scalpers only to be denied admission because the tickets were not genuine. Remember, there are no guarantees when you buy from a scalper.
