Take one section at a time. If you start with the vocabulary section, stick with that part. Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to do too much at one time. The vocab section of every test prep book will contain a listing of those words which appear most frequently on the actual exam. The practice exams are an excellent source to use. It doesn't hurt to run through all the lists from time to time, but don't stress over learning each and every definition.

Make flashcards. This may sound a bit trivial or elementary, but it isn't. Flashcards come in handy, and it keeps you from having to always carry the prep book with you. If you get a free moment, you can get out the flashcards and look over them. This breaks up the studying process and makes it a less overwelming.

Make practice sheets for the math problems. Write out those problems which you find most challenging and give yourself room to work each problem. Take notes on the tips that are given for the various types of problems. Familiarize yourself with the examples and explanations for each type of problem.

Don't stress over the writing portion of the test. Unfortunately, there isn't really any way to prep for this part of the exam. There are tips provided for this aspect of the exam. Look over the tips that are given. But essentially, the only way to prep for this part of the test is to write, write and write some more. Practice formulating solid arguments with precise points. The last thing you want to do is find yourself rambling on when you are taking the exam. Keep your thoughts organized and transfer that organization into the arguments you write. Generally, on the exam, you will be give a choice of two topics on which you have to write.
