Step 1
Go to Roundup and explore the Bull Mountains. Roundup and the mountains will have wonderful vistas, two great museums and unmatched scenery to explore. Get some pictures on your camera. Use your binoculars. Take Highway 12 east from the town and view some of the most quaint, sandstone buildings anyone has seen. Be taken by surprise when stopping at Ingomar to see the Jersey Lilly Saloon. It is over a hundred years old and still serves great snacks. Try the famous “Cowboy Beans.” Make some plans to stay the night and take a stagecoach to visit the buffalo.

Step 2
Next, is Forsyth, Montana still traveling on Highway 12. In Rosebud County, it is the county seat. The "Matthew Quigley Buffalo Rifle Match " happening occurs once a year. It consists of cowboys dressing up and shooting black powder rifles up to 1/2 mile away. Forsyth is also where an old railway which hauls grain and coal from the Montana to worldwide destinations. Visit Rosebud County Museum and take a look at the most unusual history collections.

Step 3
Head back to Billings, by taking Interstate 94 from Forsyth. It should only take about an hour and a half. Stop at Hysham, Montana. See the Treasure County Museum. It is another one of Montana’s quaint structures.

Step 4
Stop at Pompey's Pillar, next. It lies about miles from Billings, heading west. The rock has the signature from Captain William Clark. Climb up to the top to see almost the same view as Captain Clark and his men did.

Arriving back in Billings, enjoy the places that big cities are famous for, like dining, spas, and museums. Two places of interest in Billings are the Historic Billings Depot, and the Moss Museum. The depot has been restored to its 1909 state of the art. It serves as the masterpiece of the Montana Avenue center of events. The baggage room and passenger station provide a place for business meetings, company parties, concerts, holiday events and celebrations, memorials, seminars, small trade shows and theatre performances. Built in 1909, the depot had served Northern Pacific, Great Northern, Chicago and Burlington and Quincy railroad train companies. Designed in the Beaux Arts Eclectic style, the four original buildings included the Depot building, mail building, an office building and railroad lunch room. It has a waiting area for up to 200 passengers. The area is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Step 6
Go on a tour of the Moss Mansion Historic House Museum. This tour presents the style of early American family life in Billings. See what furnishings were used in this 1903 home. This home is also listed in the historical registry.
