In wrestling, after each period, wrestlers assume the referee's position, with one wrestler on his hands and knees, and the other behind him in a dominant position. The bottom wrestler's task is to escape to a neutral position, and the top wrestler's goal is to break the bottom wrestler down to his stomach, and then work moves to turn him to his back. The lace bust is a basic technique for use from the top position to break down an opponent.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Assume the referee's position. Your partner should be on his hands and knees, and you should pick one side to "cover," with one of your hands on his elbow and the other on his belly. Wait for the referee to start the action.

  2. Step 2

Quickly move your hand that is on your opponent's elbow to grab his foot at the laces of his shoe. It is imperative that this movement is very fast so that you grab his foot before he is able to move it.

  3. Step 3

Fish the arm that started at his belly further around his waist as you grab his foot.

  4. Step 4

Pull your opponent's leg up and drive forward. Try to force his leg to bend and plant his heel in the small of his back. This will shift his mass over his arms, forcing him to go flat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice the motion of switching your hand from the elbow to the lace quickly.
