Instructions

    • 1

Cut two antler shapes out of the brown craft foam. If you are not very confident in freehanding, you can use smaller maple leaves as templates for the antlers.

    • 2

Glue the antlers on the back of the brown glass soda bottle near the top. The antlers should be glued about 1 inch from the top of the bottle. One antler should be on each side of the bottle.

    • 3

Attach two small light brown craft pompoms to the sides of the soda bottle. The small pompoms should be one on each side of the bottle and slightly towards the front, about 3 inches from the top of the bottle. These are the ears of the reindeer, so they should be glued so that they are lined up with the center of the antlers.

    • 4

Use hot glue to attach two wiggly craft eyes to the front of the glass bottle at the bottom of the neck and underneath the ears that you just applied.

    • 5

Place a dot of hot glue a few inches underneath the wiggly craft eyes of the reindeer. Apply the large light brown pompom to the front of the bottle. This serves as the base of the reindeer's nose and mouth.

    • 6

Dab a small amount of hot glue onto the back of the small red pompom and place it on the tip of the large light brown pompom in the center. This will make your reindeer have a red nose just like Rudolph.

    • 7

Use an empty bottle if you want to decorate your home. You can place sprigs of berry branches or holly into the top of the bottle to make a unique decoration. Use full bottles of soda and tie a cute tag on a piece of gold ribbon that is attached like a harness around the reindeer, if you want to give it as a gift (see Resources).

Tips & Warnings

  • Make a small red Santa hat for the reindeer if you want to cover up the cap of your bottle.

  • Use caution when operating a hot glue gun.
