Autumn presents itself with glorious natural colors, and one of the most important parts of an autumn wedding is certainly the flowers. The selection of autumn wedding flowers can be challenging since there are so many to choose from.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a florist you can trust. Selecting flowers should be done along with the help of a florist because she can lead you in the right direction. By finding a florist that is experienced in planning a wedding, you will be even better off. With their training and knowledge, you are sure to be able to select the flowers that will suit you the best for the autumn season.

  2. Step 2

Select flowers that mean the most to both the bride and the groom. Find out what meanings popular autumn flowers hold from About Flowers (see Resources below) to look for any meanings that are extra special to your and your future spouse.

  3. Step 3

Consider adding small varieties of berries and fruits to your flower arrangements and bouquet, as they are plentiful during fall, and are often perfect to mix with many of the foliages that are available for your wedding. Also consider small pumpkins as an added feature to your floral arrangements.

  4. Step 4
    Sunflowers

    Sunflowers

Choose common autumn flowers including sunflowers, arum lilies, mini calla lilies, hydrangeas, roses, and any creative and woodsy bouquets including ryegrass, bittersweet vines, and seed pods. Chrysanthemums are also a wonderful fall wedding choice along with baby breath. These rich browns, yellows, and reds are the hallmark of the autumn season.

  5. Step 5
    Orange Rose

Be creative with your fall flowers. Many great fall flowers that are perfect for an autumn wedding come in peaches and pinks such as Chloe, Mozart mini-calla and pink asilbe. For Fuchsias, you can choose a deep red rose, black beauty rose or red astilbe. Yellows and oranges also show off the autumn feeling such as the orange hypericum berry, gloriosa lily and the orange rose. For a burgundy or purple color scheme you could choose the garnet glow, Picasso mini-calla and the magenta peony. Black, although not normally a color associated with fall, goes well with autumn colors. Add the black star flower, black magic rose or the purple haze. Also include a touch of white such as gardenia, Bianca rose, white delphinium or stephanotis.

  6. Step 6

Select flowers for your wedding according to your personal tastes, your love of colors and your imagination. Select something that you can be proud of, that looks great together and that you love. More than anything, if you love what you have created, then your wedding flowers will be perfect.

Tips & Warnings
  • With plenty of inspiration from the red colors of the trees, and the natural dark greens and browns that show up in the landscaping of your backyard, pick from a variety of wonderful bouquets.
