Those who prefer personalization will appreciate iGoogle, a customizable homepage for Google. It allows users to change themes and add web feeds and Google Gadgets, which are add-ons for iGoogle that display various content on a user's page. Some gadgets include weather forecasts, postal service tracking information, eBay auction notifications and many more features. Another popular gadget is Google News, which is an automated news aggregator that collects syndicated news from many different sources. The news can be customized by category and other criteria. Stay on top of current events by adding this cool Google gadget to your home page.

      Sign in to iGoogle. Go to the Google web page and sign in. If your iGoogle page does not load, click on "iGoogle" on the top right menu. A registered Google account is required.

      Find the Google News gadget. Go to the menu beneath the search area on the right and click on "Add Stuff." Under the "Gadgets" tab, go to the right side, find the "Search for Gadgets" box, and perform a search using the terms "Google News." Click "Search" to find a list of dozens of news gadgets.

      Add the Google News gadget to your iGoogle custom webpage. On the "Search Results" page, find the "Google News" gadget you want and click on the "Add It Now" button below it. The button turns yellow and reads "Added."

      Verify that the Google News gadget has been added your iGoogle we page. Click on the "iGoogle" logo to go to your Google custom web page and, if the gadget is correctly added, the Google News gadget is located on it. It is usually added to the top left side of your iGoogle page beneath the search area.

      Edit the Google News gadget position and settings. Gadget positioning is done simply by clicking and holding the gadget header and moving it where you want it. Gadget settings are edited by clicking on the plus icon located on the right side of the gadget header and clicking "Edit Settings." The Google News gadget has settings for edition language, numbers of news items to display, show news images, font size, custom section to add news based on words you enter, and news tabs for the news categories you want to display.
