How to Make a Windows Media Video Slide Show for YouTube

      Open Windows Media Movie Maker on your computer system. View the photos and videos that you would like to include in your video slide show. Once you have decided on these items, import them into Windows Media Movie Maker. This can be done by clicking the "Import Media" icon at the top of the menu bar. A pop-up window will appear with all of the files located on your computer system.

      Navigate to the folder that contains the files that you would like to use. In order to select more than one item at a time, hold down the "CTRL" button on your keyboard and click each file to be imported. This is also a good time to import music or sound files as well to enhance your video for YouTube. Within a few seconds they will be transferred to the application.

      Drag each imported media file into the "Storyboard" area located at the bottom of Windows Movie Maker. Once you drag an audio or music file to the same area, it will quickly change from the "Storyboard" view to a "Timeline" view. You'll have the chance to edit the length of the audio or music file by simply dragging it to a desired position.

      Add special effects to your video slide show. Click the "Effects" link located on the left side of the page under the "Edit" section. View the available special effects that can make your video slide show more professional. Select the "Storyboard" link by clicking the drop-down arrow at the bottom of the page. Click and hold down the selected effect to drag it to an available location. While dragging the effect, make sure that you place it inside the star image located at the bottom left of the image.

      Place transitions into your video slide show as well. Click the "Transitions" link on the left side of the page. You'll be presented with several choices. Click one and hold it down to drag it to a specific location. Place the chosen transition between each image located in the "Storyboard" section.

      Create credits and a title for your video slide show. Click the "Titles and Credits" link on the left side of the page. On the next page you will be asked for the preferred location of your credits and titles. Choose to have one placed at the beginning, before each clip, on top of the clips, and the credits at the end.

      Publish your video slide show for others to view. Click the "This Computer" link located on the left side of the page. A pop-up window will open for you to start publishing. Create a name for your video slide show by typing it next to the "File Name" section. Select the location to save the file or leave it at the default setting. Select the best viewing settings for your video slide show and then click the “Publish” button. When it has been completely published, upload your finished video slide show to YouTube.
