How to Do Knee Circles in Yoga

Some yoga postures are for beginners while others are quite difficult to execute. Regardless of their degree of difficulty, each posture serves a purpose and benefits the practitioner. Doing knee circles is a very elementary exercise but it’s beneficial to all yoga practitioners. The benefits of this exercise include eliminating gas buildup and indigestion, because the pose massages the intestines and gets things moving. The posture also kneads the lower back muscles, which helps relieve back tension.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat
  1. Step 1

    Lying down, do your deep breathing in and out through your nostrils. Relax your shoulders and pull them down from your ears.

  2. Step 2

    Bring your knees to your chest and place a hand on each knee.

  3. Step 3

    Rotate your knees simultaneously to the right, keeping your hands on your knees, making a complete circle.

  4. Step 4

    Do the knee circles to the left.

  5. Step 5

    Know that the knee circles help increase circulation as well as release back tension.
