Getting through the arduous weeks of bedrest while pregnant

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • To Be Pregnant
  1. Step 1

Do something other than watch TV. Make this time worthwhile. Get something done that has been on your To Do List. If nothing else, voice record your life story for your unborn child/children.

  2. Step 2

Break up your day in a structured way. For example: movies in the morning, books after lunch, visitors in the afternoon, magazines at midnight, call the same relative every evening, naps at 3pm, etc... Structure makes the days go by faster.

  3. Step 3

Encourage friends and family to visit frequently and make the most of those visits. After the baby/babies come, finding uninterrupted time to visit with friends and family will be scarce.

  4. Step 4

Keep your complaining to a minimum. Everyone knows it's a pain to be on bedrest. Be as positive as possible. In hindsight, the duration of your bedrest won't seem as long as it actually is.

  5. Step 5

Celebrate each passing day! You just gave your baby another 24 hours in the safest place in the world for them. Do not take that lightly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never turn down a meal delivery!
  • Remember, this isn't about you. This is about your baby/babies. Follow your Doctor's orders explicitly.
