How to Create a New Website Using FrontPage 2000

It is very user-friendly and doesn't require Web developer skills to use it. It provides templates to assist in creating your Web pages. It also has a wizard that guides and assists you in using the program. Here we will show you an easy approach to building a website using FrontPage.

      Access your FrontPage page program. Click on the menu bar and click the down arrow under "File." Click "Web" in the menu that appears. This option allows you to create your new Web page. A "website" dialog box appears.

      Choose the template that you wish for your website from the options that are displayed. As you click on each template, you will see a description of that page to the right listed under "Description." You can choose from "One Web page," "Personal Web page," "Project Web page" and others. There is a "Form page" wizard option. If you select this option, FrontPage will ask questions to assist you in creating the page.

      Click "Ok" to start your Web page and allow FrontPage to display the template. FrontPage displays the template that you chose and will allow you to type the information for your Web page directly into the template.

      Type the text that you wish to display in your page. As you reach the end of each line, FrontPage will automatically wrap your words to the next line. The program also automatically underlines any misspelled words that it finds.

      Click on the menu bar and choose "File" then "Save" once you have entered all of the information that you wish to enter. This allows you to save your Web page in the location that you choose on your PC.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you add an image to your page, you must also save the image as part of your website so that the image will transfer when you publish your pages.
