Triangle Fold an Arkansas Flag

Triangle folding any flag is not only the proper thing to do but shows good flag etiquette and pride in your state or country. All flags should be shown great respect, and folding a flag is a good way to do this.

Instructions

    • 1

The best way to start is to hold one end of the Arkansas flag and get someone else to hold the other end. Grasp the corners of the flag. The flag should be face up and tightly stretched by all four corners.

    • 2

Fold the right corner under the left hand; grab it with the left hand. Both participants should do this at the same time, folding the flag in half. Stretch the flag tight again by all four corners.

    • 3

Repeat Step 2. The flag will have been folded twice, and it is now ready to be folded in the triangle pattern.

    • 4

The person farthest away from the A in Arkansas should begin folding toward the A. The first fold is very important; it creates the pattern for the rest of the flag. Fold the bottom corner up to create a tight triangle. Continue this from right to left and then from left to right until the whole flag is in the shape of a triangle.

    • 5

When you have the whole flag folded tightly, hand the flag to the person who has been holding the end nearest the A. That person tucks in the small amount of flag that is left out. The Arkansas flag should then be taken to a safe and environmentally controlled place where it will be protected from the elements.

Tips & Warnings

  • The tighter you can keep the flag throughout this process the better the triangle will look when you are done.

  • Never allow the flag to touch the floor.
