Instructions

    • 1

Brush all of the kinks and knots out of your hair so that it's tangle-free.

    • 2

Separate a 1 1/2-inch section of your hair and pin back the rest of your hair with a claw hair clip.

    • 3

Wrap the piece of hair around your curling iron until it reaches your ear. Do not curl the hair all the way to your scalp. Hold for 10 seconds. Unwrap the hair.

    • 4

Continue pulling 1 1/2-inch sections of your hair and repeating Step 3 until your entire head has been curled.

    • 5

After your whole head is full of curls, run your fingers through your curls to loosen them up. You don't want any tight curls.

    • 6

Rub about a quarter-sized amount of hair pomade between your hands and slide it through your loose curls, using your fingers.

    • 7

Scrunch your hair at the scalp using the excess pomade that's on your hands to give your hair volume. Flip your head over and scrunch your curls. Flip your head back over and continue scrunching your hair at the scalp.

Spray hair with hairspray to hold the look all day long. Flip it over and spray again if you want a more tousled look.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to wear your hair up with the bed head look, you can give it an even more chic look by teasing the top of your hair forward with a comb and then putting it up. This look has been mastered by many celebs, such as Carrie Underwood and Hillary Duff.

  • For a more sleek look, put a pea sized amount of smoothing serum onto your hands, rub together, and then smooth onto your ends. Use a flat iron to flatten out your ends.

  • Be very careful not to burn yourself with your curling iron.
