How to Post Web Clips to a Wordpress Blog Directly With a "Press This" Button

Save

Wordpress has created the "Press This" button so you can post content to your blog without being logged into your Wordpress page. You will only need to add the button to your Internet browser´s bookmarks menu; by clicking on it whenever you see a webpage you want to post and write about, you will be able to edit a new entry for your blog.

  • Log into your Wordpress account. Go to your "Write" section and choose to write a new post. It's in this section that you will find the tip to add the "Press This" button to your bookmarks menu.

  • Click on the "Press this" link and simply drag it to your bookmarks menu bar on the Internet browser you are currently using. From now on, you are ready to post content to your blog from any other site. This feature allows you to post both text and photos to your blog.

  • Go to any website. You can even test the button by navigating your own site. While you are on the page that you want to post to your site, click on the "Press This" button on your bookmarks bar. A new window will pop up.

  • Note that this window looks like your editing page on Wordpress. You can edit and format your blog entry as you want. The only difference is that you can only see the "View" option, and cannot edit any HTML code. However, this problem can be solved by saving the entry as a draft and editing once you are on your Wordpress account. Click "Save" or "Publish" when you are done with your entry.

  • Go to your site and check to see how the last post was published. You can always come back and do some edits on your regular Worpdress account.
