How to Find the Magic Point Switch Material in "Final Fantasy 7"

The cast of characters in the PlayStation role-playing game Final Fantasy 7 can cast spells and use special powers by equipping crystal shards called Materia. There are several secret pieces of Materia, such as the Magic Point Switch Materia, which can only be found by playing the chocobo breeding mini-game.

Instructions

1. 

   Play through the game until your party is able to freely use the airship called the Highwind during the second disc.

2. 

   Fly in the airship to the north end of the world map and land near the town called Bone Village. Equip the "steal" Materia on one of your characters and then fight in random battles in the forests until your group is attacked by a large red creature called a Vlakarados. Use the steal Materia to get an item called a "carob nut" from the monster.

3. 

   Rent out three stables from the Chocobo Farm and then buy some "greens" from Choco Bill. Equip the "chocobo lure" Materia on one of your characters and then land the airship in the desert near the town called Gold Saucer.

4. 

   Capture a chocobo by fighting in random battles while walking on the chocobo tracks. When your group is attacked by a chocobo and two other monsters, use the greens to distract the chocobo and then kill the other monsters. After the battle choose the option to send the chocobo back to the stables you rented.

5. Capture a second chocobo using this same process on the chocobo tracks by the town called MIdeel.

6. 

   Return to the chocobo farm and breed your two chocobos together. Use the carob nut when Choco Bill asks if you want to use any items during the breeding. You should end up with either a green or blue chocobo.

7. Ride the chocobo over the river blocking access to the cave above the city called North Corel. Go inside the cave to find the Magic Point Switch Materia.

Tips & Warnings

• The Magic Point Switch Materia swaps a character's hit points with his magic points, allowing him to cast many more spells but making him much more physically weak.
