How to Automatically Program TV Channels on a Philips Remote Control

Make your viewing experience hassle-free by automatically programming TV channels on your remote control, eliminating the need to scroll past hundreds of channels you don't get service for. Your Philips television has the ability to automatically set itself for local channels when the "Auto Program" is activated.

  • Access the on-screen menu by pressing the Menu button located on the upper left side of your Philips remote.

  • Find directional arrows, or cursor buttons, in the center of the remote. Use the up and down cursor buttons to scroll through the menu until you have highlighted "Install."

  • Use the right cursor button to display the features of the Install menu. Use the up and down cursor to scroll the features until "Auto Program" is highlighted.

  • Press the right cursor button to start scanning the channels. This feature stores a list of all available channels in the TV's memory. When it is finished, it tunes to the lowest available channel. From now on, when you press the + and - channel buttons located under the cursor buttons, you should only access the local or cable channels.

  • Press the Status/Exit button, located on the upper right side of your Philips remote control, to remove the menu from the screen.
