How to Use the Tuner Mode Control on a Philips TV

With so many buttons on your remote control, it is sometimes tricky to get where you want to go. Many features, which are necessary for optimum TV viewing, require a several step process. The "Tuner Mode" allows you to change the signal input on your TV to cable, antenna or auto mode. It's important to specify which of these signals (i.e., cable or antenna) you want the TV to look for.

Instructions

1. Press the Menu button located on the upper left side of your Philips remote control to bring up the menu on the television screen.

2. Use the up and down arrow buttons located in the center of the remote control to scroll through the menu list until you have select the Install menu. Press the right arrow to display the features for this option.

3. Use the up and down arrow buttons again to scroll through the list until you come to Tuner Mode. Press the right arrow button to select Cable, Antenna or Auto Mode. When "cable" is selected the channels 1 through 125 are available. Channels 2 through 69 are available when "antenna" is the mode selected. Activating the "auto program" within the auto mode will have the TV automatically set itself to right mode based on the signal it receives.

4. Press the button labeled "Status/Exit," located on the upper right of your Philips remote control, to remove the menu from the TV screen.
