Tips & Warnings

  • If you use a water filter that you normally use for water, remember that you will have liquor residue in your filter when you are done with this project. Wash out your filter thoroughly to ensure that no liquor residue enters your drinking water.

  • Consider buying a water filter to use solely for filtering hard liquor to avoid contaminating your drinking water.

  • A water filter will not filter out all the impurities from your hard liquor. Take caution when drinking liquor filtered in this way.

  • Read the Surgeon General's warning on the hard liquor bottle to determine if you should be consuming liquor and a safe amount to consume.

  • Do not consume alcohol and then try to operate heavy machinery, including cars.

  • For alcohol-related emergencies, call 911.
