The magnet can also be given as a gift to a teacher or grandparent.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Self-adhesive magnet strip
  • Construction paper
  • Red felt
  • Black felt
  • Black marker
  • Orange marker
  • 1popsicle stick
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  1. Step 1

Draw three large circles on top of each other on a piece of white construction paper. Make sure you use a pencil. Next, erase the sections in between the three balls so that you only have an outline of a snowman that is in one piece.

  2. Step 2

Use your scissors to cut your snowman out of the construction paper.

  3. Step 3

Draw two black eyes on your snowman's face using a black marker. Then draw four to five black dots on the snowman's face to make a mouth. Finally, draw three more dots going down the middle of the snowman's belly. That will be his buttons.

  4. Step 4

Draw a nose on your snowman's face in between the eyes and the mouth with an orange marker. You can model the nose after an orange carrot.

  5. Step 5

Cut a popsicle stick in half to make arm's for the snowman. Glue one popsicle stick on each side of the snowman, coming out of the back of the middle snowball. When you are done you should have a left arm and a right arm.

  6. Step 6

Make a pair of mittens for your popsicle stick arms. Cut them out from some red felt. Glue one on each end of the popsicle sticks. It is okay if the mitten is bigger than the stick and hangs over a bit.

  7. Step 7

Add a scarf to your snowman. Cut a scarf out of the red felt and fray the edges by giving them a few cuts. Glue the scarf around the snowman's neck.

  8. Step 8

Add a hat to your snowman. Cut out a top hat from the black felt with your scissors. Glue the top hat to the top of the snowman's head.

  9. Step 9

Add your magnet strip. Cut a piece to at least fit the length of the middle piece of the snowman. Peel the backing off and place the sticky part to the back of your snowman. If it doesn't stick, add a little glue.

  10. Step 10

Place your magnet on a refrigerator or metal filing cabinet, or wrap it up as a gift.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also cut out a broom from some brown felt and have it drape down from one of the mittens.
  • Watch smaller children with the scissors so they don't get hurt. Make sure you buy them age appropriate scissors as well.
