1
Dig a ditch out in your backyard. Fill it with dried twigs and leaves and make a little bonfire. Set a big quilt on the ground nearby and bask in the glow. Feed each other sticky toasted marshmallows and sip some wine. Stretch out side by side under the stars and talk about your future plans, snuggling close to keep warm.

2
Visit a state or county fair in your area, which are usually abundant in the fall. Win your loved one a stuffed animal, or feed her cotton candy and corn dogs. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes so that you can be silly, childlike and romantic into the evening.

3
Head to a nearby orchard or pumpkin patch. Get lost in a corn maze and make out on a haystack. Pick out pumpkins. Take an evening hayride.

4
Take your date to a scary haunted house. If this does not sound romantic to you, consider the fact that if your or your date is timid or scares easily, there will be lots of hand-holding and arm or waist grabbing.

5
Drive out to the country or other scenic autumn route. Pack a picnic lunch and find the perfect spot. Stop at a local flea market or craft fair along your drive.
