One of the most respected and revered pitches in baseball is the knuckleball. When thrown properly, the kuckleball has the ability to completely baffle opposing hitters. This article will help you learn how to master the knuckleball when using a whiffle ball. Here you will learn how to throw a pitch most batters will never see coming.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Grip the whiffle ball with the holes facing toward home plate or whatever your target might be. A tight grip is the most effective with the knuckleball.

  2. Step 2

Dig the fingernails of your index and middle fingers into the top of the whiffle ball.

  3. Step 3

Your thumb should be located on the bottom of the ball, while your pinky and ring fingers should be together on the side of the ball.

  4. Step 4

Throw the knuckleball overhand like most other pitches are thrown. With a tight grip, and proper overhand technique, the knuckleball with a whiffle ball should move just like one thrown with a baseball.

  5. Step 5

Mastering this pitch can be extremely difficult, so make sure and practice the knuckleball often!

Tips & Warnings
